A logo design for a full-body car detailing located in Greensboro, North Carolina. This logo was a revision and I made it different from other companies in the same field by using what the client wanted, had and based on the name of the company. This logo displays a red car, with two male figures behind it. A white text box under the car that displays the company's name and another small white text box to display the type of service.
Problems that I encountered in this project were the bubbles inside the hexagon frame and choosing a font style. The bubbles inside the frame were all created by the circle shape and to add detail inside of each, I used the pen tool to create the illusion of shiny and glossy effect. The problem was that every time I would try to fill in the bubbles with color, it would also color the line that I created with the pen tool. The client wasn't too specific on what type of font style he wanted so it was a tedious process trying to come up with something that he wanted and liked. It would have helped me significantly if the client had a font in mind that way I could choose one similar or create a new one.
The image on the left is the original logo of the client, which he told me he did not like at all but when he started his company he had to rely on it for the time being.
The image in the middle was my first draft I sent to the client, which he liked but wanted the font style and figure to change.
The image to the right was the second draft I sent to the client. He absolutely loved it, and just wanted the background color to change and to add bubbles as decorations to represent the auto detailing service.
The Client of this new logo was a old friend of mine who had always been asking me for a new logo since I started working in graphic design. Although he was a good friend, I still treated this project as a professional one and we communicated back and forth about the progress, problems, and came up with solutions.
The client wanted a new and improved logo compared to his previous one which he felt was outdated and poorly made. The client told me the previous designer made his logo for cheap and with minimum effort. The client told me that his logo needed a drastic revision, to help make his advertisements and social media posts look more professional and certified. The client wanted his new logo to have a hexagon background shape with the company's name inside a white text box in the middle. He also just wanted a car in the middle, nothing too specific. He wanted bubbles in the background frame to help emphasize the car detailing service. I made the logo exactly how he wanted, and when it came time to create the car, I used his own car as a reference and created it for his logo. I created the two male figures in the back to help emphasize the name of the company. He said the two male figures were very good because he ran his business with his friend. In the end, I made five versions of the logo, which were all just recolors of the background, with one being an inverted version.
To fix the issue that I had with the coloring in the bubbles in the background, I had to go in, select the whole circle along with the line and then deselect the line individually to be able to fill in the bubble with color. This process had to be done to every single bubble that needed it. As for the font style, the client asked me to choose for him as he was not certain on which one to use. I showed him a different font style in one of the progress photos but he didn't like it so we agreed that having the same font style for both text boxes would look better.
All three of these images are part of the final logo designs.
The image on the left has the bubbles colored blue with a white background. This one was the client's favorited because the blue bubbles fits so well with the auto detailing service.
The image in the middle is inverted in case the client wants to make shirts, hats, stickers, etc.
The image to the right had the bubbles in white with a black background inside the frame.
